The Friday fish fry, the library story hour, the high school play, the Village Board meeting, and the school board vote all show up here together. You shouldn’t have to check six websites and scroll a Facebook group to find out what’s going on in your own town.
We built this because the big platforms stopped doing the job. Their feeds decide what you see. Ours doesn’t. Every event, meeting, and business update is listed the way the organizer published it, and you pick what to look at. Want just things to do this weekend? That’s the default. Want to know what’s on the Village Board agenda Thursday, or when the school board meets? Flip the toggle and it’s there, with the link to the agenda and how to comment.
When people can see what’s happening, they show up. Showing up is how a town stays a town: the restaurant down the street stays open, the park gets fixed, and you know the names of your neighbors again.

For businesses and organizations
DeForest, Windsor, and the greater community around them are what this site is about. We started the directory with the local shops, but any business or organization that serves our area is welcome to add or claim a free listing. Submitting an event is free too. We don’t go looking for events or businesses outside DeForest and Windsor, but if one matters to you, add it and we’ll list it.
When you work out of a home office, a garage, or a small shop, it’s hard to get noticed. This directory is for every local business, whether you’re a one-person startup or one of the biggest employers in town.
Nobody gets buried. You can sort the directory A to Z, but the default order shuffles every time someone visits or refreshes the page, so every listing spends time near the top.
Soon you’ll be able to post your own updates here: a new menu, a sale, a class starting next month, a new hire. Neighbors see them in the community feed in the order you post them. No algorithm decides who sees what.
Later on, the featured spots at the top of the directory will be paid placements for businesses that want more visibility. If that interests you, let us know and we’ll keep you posted. We won’t run ad networks that take over the page. Any ads here will come from local businesses that want to reach their neighbors, and we’ll place each one by hand and label it.
Who runs it
The DeForest Windsor Hub is run by Mnemonic Multimedia LLC, a Windsor, WI business, and by a 20-year resident of the community. If we missed something or got something wrong, just reach out.
